"It's not like I can get drunk anyway, my body temperature burns the alcohol out of my system before it even gets to my liver. And I can't really help with a problem in Block D." Ryu sighed "It's not within my jurisdiction, so couldn't help even if I wanted too." He pulled out the rum from behind the mirror, poured a glass and put the bottle back into its hiding spot.

Gaz didn't have much reflex-wise, so the cue ball landed with an audible "oompf" into his gut. "Hoo-boy!" he grunted as he recoiled, bending forward as he grasped the pool table's edge. His feet managed not to budge at all. "I think...you might have rearranged...my intestine," he wheezed, getting the ball back onto the table after it had left a decent dent in his carapace. (At least he knew it wouldn't bruise.) Then, in no time at all, he raised up in arms to stretch himself out, and it was like nothing happened. "Thank goodness it was dull, or else I'd have to stitch this skin rag back up. I ain't paying for that," he said, pointing to the broken cue stick in Prion's hands.

Chess just stared at Gaz and Prion, his poker face as plain as ever. "Can't help you there, Prion. If it were me, I wouldn't get involved, but of course I'm also not crazy enough to fall in love with an asylum patient, so who knows what you would do." Chess placed his empty glass on the coffee table before standing up and stretching.
"Well, time to get back to work. See ya some other time." Chess bid goodbye, waving to them as he made his way back to elevator.

Good job Prion, you've managed to make a fool of yourself once again. The Oread picked up the pieces of the pool cue in silence and tossed them in the nearby trashcan. Chess' words stung, but they were true. He'd have to either let go of Chamena, or... Could he fix her himself? Make her whole, so that she wouldn't be a patient in this forsaken asylum? He'd always dreamed of meeting a girl and being her knight in shining armor, so maybe this was his chance! He went to go grab another pool cue, then realized he still hadn't said anything to Gaz.
"Sorry about that, Gaz. You okay?"

"Yeah totally," he replied with a thumbs up. "Though I won't be so forgiving if you end up doin' it again," Gaz laughed. He liked to be positive as much as he could, instead of being the stereotypical depressed dead guy, but it didn't mean people couldn't piss him off. He just waited for the right circumstances.
"Also I should get an extra turn!" he said, after pocketing one ball and missing another. Instead of waiting for Prion, he just went again to sink another, but this time managed to get the eight ball in too. "Aww dammit. Looks like we'll have to rematch soon."

The dragon stretched "Well, my inmate has therapy tomorrow, so I think I'll head out now" he sighed "I'm going to need all my strength for that particular mess, see you all later." He walked from the room to go to staff sleeping room

Prion couldn't help but smile at the zombie guard. That guy always managed to be upbeat, even in this hellhole.
"Sounds like a plan. I'm off to see what sleep I can get before tomorrow. See you around, man." He cleaned up the last remaining wooden shards of the old pool cue, then headed back to his room.

No one had even noticed Vann leave before the pool ball incident. He'd never gotten along all that well with most of his colleagues anyway.

Hours passed by. For once in a while, the entire Asylum is quiet, minus the snarls of the Hellhounds and the night guards standing watch both inside and out of the building.

Gaz creeped into the fairly quiet break room. Not many guards were around, and much less any that he knew. But he was mainly waiting around for Oberon, hoping maybe to talk to the guy and learn more about being as good a guard as he was. After all, Gaz was still kinda starstruck with the guy and how he trusted him (with good reason, of course!) with some orders. In the meanwhile though, he noticed that someone left behind a nice pack of cards and started to shuffle it around to play some obscure game with them.
