Meela grumbled when she realized that the elevator to the pits had already left. Just my luck. And I can't go out without probably getting lost and most likely eaten... I guess I might as well stay around here... Oh who am I kidding, time to explore this joint! She compressed herself to her "Travel-Size" form, then opened up a panel in the elevator base. After fiddling with the wires for a little bit, she squeezed through into the elevator shaft. Looks like they went down to the basement. I'll just follow the cable. She grabbed one of the cords and slid down it, descending rapidly until she reached the top of the elevator itself. After opening yet another panel, she wormed her way through to the other side. The duo from earlier were standing just outside the doors, staring at the vast-- and absolutely huge!!-- cells before them.
"Well pluck my fur and call me a rat! This place just gets more interesting by the minute! Say, you boys don't mind if I tag along, do ya? That frosty Yoori-whatsit didn't exactly make me want to hang around and I sure get bored easily." She scampered up on top of the Gargoyle's leg, easily hopping up to his shoulder.

Shard had turned around when the voice behind him started talking, but wasn't expecting her to come towards him. "Whoa! Hey, what are you--" and in no time at all she was on his shoulder. Shard scowled, but in reality she wasn't all that heavy. "You need to warn a fellow!" he said, a little miffed. "Come along if you want, just be careful with my shoulder if you want to stay up there and don't scratch me up. And weren't you taller a while ago?"

"Don't worry, I won't hurt ya! And yeah I was taller earlier, but I'm a Gremlin, so I can compress and expand my body at will. Makes it easier for workin' on planes and stuff, ya know?" She looked around, taking in the architecture. Hmph, they sure did this place on a budget. I bet I could take almost all of the metal down here and rework it, and they wouldn't even notice! I should try to be nice to these guys though. I need them on my side. She sat down on the Gargoyle's shoulder, wrapping her tail lightly around his neck for balance.
"Thanks for letting me sit up here, though. I really appreciate it. What's your name?"

"Just call me Shard," he said, as he settled his shoulders in a more comfortable position to let her sit up there. It kinda made him feel like a pirate. "And this is Puck, my official partner in crime."

"Shard and Puck, huh? Well, nice to meet you guys! I'm Meela, in case you didn't hear me the first time around." She glanced at Shard's back, noticing the broken edges on his shoulder blades. "Hey, if you don't mind my asking, what happened to your wings? Had a run-in with a pissed off stone-cutter?"

Puck was caught off guard when the gremlin he saw earlier suddenly jumped onto Shard's shoulder. "Uh...Yeah- I'm Puck. It's nice to know your name Meela. We're in a way Block buddies since you're right across from us."
The elevator suddenly dinged and opened. "Here we are, the pit!" In front of them was a long platform that stretched and then separated into two paths. Pretty much the platforms went around in a circle. There were stairs, but those stairs only went downward and closer to the bottom.
"Over here guys!" Puck ran out of the elevator and across the platform. Leaning over the railing and looking down into the giant hole, one can see giant monsters at the bottom. Giants, Ogres, and Golems from all different parts of the world, most of them with chains around their necks and their guards holding them.
"I'll meet you two down in the Pit!" With that, Puck climbed over the railing and jumped down about 3 stories. "Heeeey- Moort, you here man!?" he called out, catching the attention of everyone down in the Pit. Most of them, particularly the guards, reacted with a face-palm and a groan.

"HOW MANY TIMES AM I GOING TO HAVE TO ANSWER THIS," Shard started to shout, when he took a huge deep breath to calm himself down, especially careful not to let Meela fall. "Sorry, sorry. I'm not angry at you, it's just that thinking of those damn kids again just pisses me off to no end. I was sleeping too low to the ground and well, I didn't have my wings the next night. Of course, they didn't have their lives the day after..." he said in a conniving tone. That was certainly enough on the topic for now.
"Let's get down there before Puck gets himself pummeled." He wondered which one of those brutes was the one he was calling out for as Shard scanned the horde.

"Oh man, that seriously sucks!" She wrapped her tail a little tighter so that she wouldn't fall off, staring down into the massive circular area below. It was like looking into the Pit of the Titans; everything could crush her with just a pinky finger or toe. Puck had certainly made himself at home down there..."Well, just soz ya know, I'm an aeronautical engineer, and the proud owner of the patents for all of the main fighter jets and bombers used in Cartika, in the west. I can make ANYTHING fly, be it planes, cars, monkeys, whatever! If you'd be willing to help me out, I can make you a brand-spanking-new pair of wings." She smiled to herself, letting her words sink in.

"Heeeey- Moort, you here man!?"
Moortimier's eyes squinted in response, tensing up his body. He had been conversing with a Giantess and Rock Golem, who both immediately stopped talking when they heard Puck call out. Though others chuckled a little, the other two frowned in silence.
"For goddess's sake, what the hell does he want with you?" the giantess Frietha said under her breath. "Does anyone ever know with that dirtbag?" the rock golem Jeromm whispered back.
"It won't even matter," Moortimier finally responded. "The better I just let him get what he wants, the faster he's out of here and out of my branches. Plus it's not like I was having the most spectacular day in the world either."
He turned his trunk towards Puck and took six or seven heavy steps towards him. "How lovely to see you here today," he said to him in the most deadpan sarcasm he could muster, motioning his arms out to the cells. "Truly a special day in Sheol when I'm graced by the presence of the great Sandman. Prithy, what brings you to my domain?" If it wasn't obvious how much of his annoyance went though, at least it would sound like he was attempting to be nice.

"Polite as ever I see, Tree Golem, protector of our dear Mother Nature." Puck replied back with just as much sarcasm, even doing a playful bow. Something about the way Moortimier got so annoyed with him just kept on bringing the young Sandman back. Usually he would stick around and have a conversation with Moortimier just to see how long the golem could last without trying to kill at him. The longest he lasted was about three to four hours, before the folks in the Pit screamed at him to leave.
"And I'm just bored. You know that. The guards are getting waaaay too easy to mess with, these days. Plus, Oberon's been on my ass a lot lately. I know that Wickeds like me have to be looked over, but c'mon, I haven't eaten anyone for two years! Well, except that one time they assigned this cannibal zombie-chick to cook lunch for the cafe'- found myself chewing on the arm of a Goatman! You know what I mean? Come to think of it- I might have known the guy..." Puck stopped his rambling for a moment to go through his thoughts, before he started talking again.
"I also met this cute blue-eyed demon girl from the East! She was so fine. And did you hear about the siren from Block D? Chime-something or other. Anyway, I heard from a few guards on the way hear that she went crazy and slaughtered one, tore the guy to pieces! And I aso did happen to get a new cellmate. You heard what happend to the last two I had a month or so back? Damn, was that hilarious."
I'm starting to think the doctors should have placed a muzzle on Puck, too.

Shard's spirits lifted immensely when he heard Meela was a pilot. And could make him wings! Perhaps his search for a Sculptor was finally over, and he smiled at the thought. "My friend, we have a deal! You won't be disappointed; I'm a trustworthy fellow, and this is the kind of place where you always need someone to have your back." Though he failed to mentioned how poorly he takes betrayal, because the second he couldn't trust someone, they simply needed to be gone. She didn't seem bad though. Mysterious, sure, but they've just met after all. Even Puck has gotten him a sense of immunity towards the guards for being an annoying asshole. Yes, it seemed like people were a lot more willing to help out here than the outside world, which said a lot. Their motivation, though, was probably completely different...

"Mm-hmm, yes, oh really? how interesting," Moortimier said flatly throughout Puck's story. He had his arm crossed and leaned on one leg as he nodded absentmindedly. Oh how incredibly vapid it was to hear Puck talk. "It's incredible how fast news trickles down from Block D and then mysteriously doesn't make it to the Pit, especially if it's something so exciting as a slaughter. I wonder how fast news might go up to the top if there's a slaughtering down here?" he asked rhetorically, though aimed at Puck.
"I'm surprised they keep giving you cellmates," he said truthfully. "You really don't deserve the kind of freedom you're getting but I guess that's just the guards' discretion. What did ever happen to your old cellmates, by the way? I don't think I've been regaled with that story. And does your new 'friend' know about it yet?" Moortimier saw the gargoyle and gremlin come down the large steps and assumed that was the guy. What a shame, he might have had a peaceful stay here without having to deal with Puck all the time.
"I-uh, I don't know about it actually," Shard replied, having walked up to where Puck was. "I'm sure it was a hilarious story!"
"Mmm, yes, keep telling yourself that," Moortimier grumbled.

Meela grinned, hopping to the ground so she give Shard's hand a firm shake, then leapt easily back onto his shoulder.
"I'm mighty glad to hear that, Shard! I think we're going to make a great team! I'm just asking for two things from ya: would you be so kind as to help me gather materials and hide them if need be, and to act as my de-facto body guard? I'm a pretty tiny girl, especially when I'm all compressed-like, and I won't last long in a place like this if it's just me against the world. And don't you worry none about me backin' out of my word on ya. I never promise something I can't deliver, and I never break a promise. Engineer's Honor!" She gently patted Shard's shoulder, her tail flicking back around his neck. She sat back down on her new perch, staring in wonder up at the Tree Golem.
"Oscar mike golf..." She whispered, her jaw dropping.

"I'll do exactly that," Shard replied to Meela. "Alls I need to do is see what the night shift is all about tonight, and tomorrow we can see to finding a good place to stash the stuff we find." Though it would be a lot easier in theory to go about things at night when people slept, there were those hellhounds running around, so it would be important to see those himself.

Puck could only snicker at Moortimier's comments. It was indeed strange that nearly everyone in the Asylum was willing to put up with him for nearly 2 years. Puck expected them to move him up to Block C, or worse, kill him. 'I guess it's because they know they cannot keep me locked up...And that it isn't exactly easy to kill a Sandman.' he thought with a smirk. Being a creature whose job is to basically "Get in and Get out" has so many blessings, with only one downside (the job sucked Griffin balls.)
"Well anyway- the wingless Gargoyle here is Shard. Don't ask him why he's wingless- he'll scream. And the tiny, red one is Meela. I think she mentioned something about technology, but I wasn't paying attention. But anyway, guys- this is Moortimier. I would call him my 'friend' but that would mean he actually likes me. He's just one of the folks I like to bother around here."
