Ah! Wait! Hold the presses! My re-reading has unearthed something rather interesting: www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=005138 "Meanwhile, Dave is to go to sleep and listen to the gods, who will tell him how to find the sun. He will make a map, and Rose will plot a course there and destroy the Green Sun in a suicide mission." So they've made a map before?(!) After all, they did end up finding the Green Sun. This is quite interesting...

I’ve been actively reading Homestuck for a very long time. Hell, I remember when Hussie bought that awful painting of the black unicorn and the football player…
But aren’t they physically in the furthest ring right now? Vriska and Tavros at least, I mean. And Rose mentioned quite some time ago the Horrorterrors reside in the Furthest Ring so I don’t think it’s some unreachable or unknown place. Also even if it’s something in motion and moving I was just assuming it was all moving together, but even if things do drift closer and farther to each other and even at random, how would mapping be possible? Physics or not, it’s still got to have rules, especially since it’s all technically part of a game (SBURB/SGRUB).
As for the tentacle beasts not doing anything, they could be complacent like the majority of the pre-scratch trolls. Or, oh what’s it called… when everyone sits back and expects someone else to make the first move? And then after all that they just place all their expectations on the ones who actually managed to act. Like Harry Potter. They sit about twiddling their thumbs and then when someone finally acts (the human kids) the audience then pressures the “heroes” to do it all out of convenience. It’s very common in stories about epic battles.
I completely agree about Lord English controlling them! Not only that panel, but also Gamzee being the one who placed the Jester doll in John’s room—Lord English used to reference Saw with the clown-looking doll so it’s a strong argument. Gamzee is only a messiah(s); he’s not their “god”-figure so Lord English by default is the only other option to fulfill that role. I have to admit I started laughing hysterically—in a mad rush that probably ended in a horrible sob—when the codpiece was delivered and whatnot. I felt like a complete idiot for not realizing how important the codpiece was even though I have read a bit of Hussie’s Bard Quest (in which a Bard quests just to obtain a codpiece). It was so obvious that a codpiece would be something major in Homestuck but I don’t think anyone made that connection until shit hit the fan.

Sorry I posted without reading your latest post, but I think what you've found only helps my points.

Right, they're in the Furthest Ring because they're in the Dream Bubbles, and Tavros and Vriska are dead so they can't actually wake up and leave the bubbles. It makes sense when I think of the Beforus trolls, but as soon as I start thinking about people who have god-tiered or have had dream selves die still being able to show up in the dream bubbles starts to confuse me to no end. Because didn't technically all of the Alternia trolls' dream selves die at some point? Or were they able to scram to the bubbles before Jack blew up Prospit and Derse? I should try harder to keep track.
So then, are we agreeing that there are enough "rules" to let Vriska see the maps of the damage? At least, that's what I'm starting to understand. There are still some rules, as you say, just really convoluted ones.
I didn't know about the codpiece's connection to Bard Quest (I haven't read it, probably should), but considering how he's gone back and pulled some other cues to make them story points, I certainly see how that might scream "this is important." I've also heard the theory that the evil Gamzee we saw asking for the codpiece was an alternate Gamzee from a doomed line, but I wouldn't put it past the real Gamzee to do the same.

The Dream Bubbles are not for just the Alpha timeline’s dead, it’s for the splintered off/doomed timelines as well, hence the whole bit with Aradia following one of her doomed selves’ memories and bringing others along for the ride and why we’ve seen Karkat in his god tier as a ghost when our Alpha timeline Karkat never got that far. And even the doomed John that Vriska dated made it to the Dream Bubbles. None of them (the dead) physically made it to the Dream Bubbles they just woke up as ghosts residing in the Dream Bubbles thanks to the Horrorterrors allowing the Dream Bubbles to be used and/or created.
Yes, I think there have to be rules; I just hope Hussie is going to allow more information on it to be given to us.
I don’t really see that being something that’d turn out true… I think it’s really him. We’ve never actually seen him die and the others have mentioned on multiple occasions how strong he really is. It could be he got the codpiece to avoid having to die to reach god tier… just an errant thought. I’m sure more will be unveiled real soon and we’ll find out if the codpiece gives Gamzee some ability or not.

Does anyone know how to make it honk in pesterchum? Last night a bunch of people flipped out in a memo I was in and started making the noise but I couldn't break the game and ask what the quirk code was (if it even is one).

um. I once read a thing on the quirks. depends how you want to do it, like if you want to do it after periods you should put in a code to sometimes replace .s with . HONK. or something. If you want, I can look through my codes later and try to come up with something.

No the sound. When they typed it, no matter how, it would actually play the sound clip. I've read some the quirk help thread but haven't seen it. No matter how I typed it I couldn't make it play the sound so that's why I'm thinking there's an actual command for it that you have to save.

I've barely used my pesterchum so I wouldn't know my way around it. Is there a command system in place for it already? Like for example on deviantart they have the system where :colons: access icon pictures and stuff. Maybe it works the same for the sound?

I never use deviantart so I'm afraid I wouldn't know how to do that if that's the case.

Well, not exactly like deviantart, but more like does it take BBC or HTML code, or like its own unique code thing?
