Chamena awoke in her cell once more. She pushed herself up, only for her entire body to seize with pain. She sank back down again, quivering all over. So it wasn't just a dream... Then that means-- She tried to call to Prion, but only a painful squeak emerged. She still needed rest in order to break down the coating on her vocal chords and allow the rest of the tissue to heal. At least she didn't have to work. That was one perk of being in Block D, in a strange way.
"Love, are you awake?" Prion peered into the cell, worry creasing his face. She looked over and nodded, not daring to push herself up again. "Chamena, I'm so sorry about what happened. If I'd known--" She shook her head, waving a hand. Why is he apologizing? It isn't his fault that his happened to me. It's my own... She tried pushing herself up once more, this time managing not to hurt herself. She hobbled over to the door, her legs still weak after hours of being strapped to the operating table. Her stomach rumbled, reminding her that she hadn't had a full dinner last night thanks to the girl who took her fish.
"I'll go get you some food. What do you think you'll be able to eat?" She rubbed her throat, wincing. Looking around, the Siren noticed a stack of paper and a stick of charcoal on the ground.
If you could find soup and tea with honey, I would be forever grateful. Chamena smiled at Prion as she handed the paper to him.
"Sure, I'll see if the cooks can make something for you." He frowned, looking back at her. "Don't go and try killing anyone else again while I'm gone, though! You don't want to end up back there again, do you?" She furiously shook her head. No, anything but there again!
The Oread smiled, walking down the hall. "I'll be back soon, love." ----------------- Prion is now free for anyone to use, if you want him to pop into your areas for whatever reason. Chamena should be fine on her own, right?

"Love, I'm back. Here's some soup for you." Prion walked back to the Siren's cell, pulling the door open. Chamena pushed herself back to her feet, taking the soup with a grateful smile. "Thanks for not destroying anything while I was gone, I was starting to worry that..." She shook her head, balancing the soup with one hand and grabbing a pencil with the other.
I know. I really don't want to go back there again.
She drank the soup, smiling as the warmth permeated her body. Her vocal chords still needed at least another couple of days to recover to the point where she could at least whisper without it hurting, but she still needed to hide that from everyone, including Prion. If they found out that Dr. Bane's torture hadn't worked... She stretched, gingerly taking a few steps. She picked up the pencil again and scribbled a note on a piece of paper.
My legs are still weak. Can I walk around the Asylum for a bit, to strengthen them again?
Prion read the note, looking hesitantly at Chamena.
"You don't want to just stay on this floor?" She shook her head, holding her thumb and index fingers a few inches apart. "Too small, got it. Alright, we'll walk you around for a bit. You don't need your muzzle though, because of..." She beamed at him, hugging him hard before hopping out of her cell.
"I just hope this doesn't end badly..."

After being absent from others for some time (though how a really easy to see tree golem does that is beyond the point here) Moortimier had made it back to his cell. He only eats once a day, breakfast in the morning, and receives the rest of his nutrients from the sunlight he receives from his work outdoors. It was especially important, considering such a dark place they were in, to have to have a supplement in the morning. Were he out in the forest, he'd only really have to eat a couple of days a week. He missed the smell the most, but has since not been nostalgic about it.
When he didn't have anyone to talk to, he would just walk laps around the Pit. Though a few dislike the practice for making them anxious, it helped Moort from becoming stiff in his cell. He has since stopped peering into other cells though, since he figured it was rather disrespectful of him. A small song always sang nearby...

"So how was dinner?" he had asked her as they headed back down to Emim's dreary home.
"Sweet," had come the simple reply, a small gap in the hum before it resumed. A woman of few words indeed.
The 'patient' and guard's arrival was telegraphed some twenty seconds before their actual arrival by the white giantess's signature tune. It was the easiest and most sure-fire way to tell where she was. Always the same tune, repeated endlessly as Emim never seemed to sleep. It would only change when music played, at which point her song would change to that of the music she heard. As soon as the playing stopped, however, she always reverted to her familiar tune.
As far as Vann knew no one else had perfectly mastered it, and he had been listening to it daily for a long, long time. A few had tried once, but they were each slightly different, unable to master the exact notes. Even Vann couldn't do it, though he had tried a few times on his violin before.
Emim did not head back to her 'room' when the two reached the bottom of the steps into the pit, instead opting to sit a few meters away from it. She hummed, listening to her own echo. Vann shrugged and took a seat upon his stool, his novel once more in hand.

As he went on his round, Moortimier came upon Emim sitting at the entrance of her cell, humming as always. It sort of reminded him of the cicadas in the forest, and how eventually you get used to their noise and find it a little strange when it's gone.
"Good day Emim. You seem more relaxed today than usual." They didn't converse much usually, but it was nice to have light conversation every once in a while.

"Evening," came Emim's simple reply before she returned to her hum. She was manipulating the echo to make it sound as though there were more than one hummer. It was rather odd to here three identical voices coming from differing directions.
Vann Hemming eyed the large tree golem speaking with his ward. The tree seemed calm. Yet another good reason Hemming was made a pit guard was that he himself was a creature of nature, and so was less likely to incur the tree's wrath. Even so, he kept a hand ready to grab his violin if it was needed.

He nodded at her response. You could only get so many syllables out of her before she went back to her song. "Hey Vann, have you seen Habhara lately? He left earlier today and I haven't seen him since. I figured a fellow guard might know." It wasn't like Habhara to disappear like that, and he usually doesn't have much other work to do.

Vann shrugged, thumbing to the next page in his novel.
"Can't say I have. May have been called away on some emergency, I suppose. Heard a D-Blocker was getting feisty."

"Hmm. Guess I'll see him when that clears over then," Moortimier replied. Block D inmates almost never move around, so it was somewhat out of the ordinary to have this person moving around.
"See you both later," he said, as he moved on from the spot they were at. He'd eventually circle back to his own cell and still find no trace of his guard. He stood there and looked up to the stairs of the pit, waiting for the sight of Habhara again.

After leaving Block B, Lilli returned to her room, with Ryu hot on her heels "I do not appreciate you testing my patience the way you did today Lilliana. The lower blocks smell absolutely putrid and your not supposed to be down in them regardless."
"I know Ryu, but sometimes it just gets so boring up here and I have to move around. این آزمون جای آنچه که از سلامت عقل من باقی مانده است."

"Don't worry about it, it's not important کمی اژدها"

Chamena walked back into her cell, sighing as Prion closed the door behind her.
"Sleep well, love. Tomorrow will be a better day, I'm sure of it." He smiled through the bars, sinking into his seat in front of her cell. She looked back over, smiling back.
Well, the start of the day may have been rough, but getting to explore a new block was certainly worth the trouble. Those inmates sure were interesting, especially that Sandman... I have to make sure I see them again, they'll make such great meals! She stretched out on her bed, staring up at the dank ceiling. I just wonder what tomorrow will bring...

With about fifteen minutes to spare for curfew, Habhara swooped in from the top of the Pit, slowing just before landing at the entrance of Moortimier's cell. It was obvious that he was in a rush, considering how out of breath he was.
"Hoo...Sorry for getting back so late. The office," he exhaled to punctuate the word, "really knows how to tie up paperwork like it's nobody's business."
"Habhara!" Moortimier exclaimed, not really listening to what he was saying because he was more concerned at the fact he came back at all. "Look, if it's getting to be too much trouble about my request..."
"No no. It's not a problem at all. I just need to go back tomorrow one last time and everything will be tied up and ready."
Moortimier's face outwardly relaxed. "You've always been a good man, you know. It's a shame you have to put up with people like me."
"Mmm," was his only response. "Come on, let's just get you situated for tonight. Just one more day." Both traded smirks as the braces and locks were put in place for curfew.

Midori walked out of the elevator, stroking her braid the whole way. She could feel her hair move under her touch, but she tried her best to ignore it. "Today was very fun. I met a bunch of new people, and I even made new friends! I hope that when I get out of here, they can come with me too." She said to herself as she walked passed the cells. She saw Gorgon standing by her cell, and she immediately ran up to the lamia.
"Midori, glad to see you made it on time."
"It is nice to see you too, Miss Gorgon! I'll see you tomorrow morning," she said with a bow before walking into the cell. Midori was too happy to notice the stares all the other inmates were giving her as she walked to her bunk.
"She looks so happy."
"A little too happy if you ask me."
"I heard she caused a few problems when cleaning the bathrooms."
"Ha, big surprise!"
Midori blocked out all the voices as she laid down, keeping her hair in the braid so she wouldn't have to deal with it in the morning. "I can't wait to meet them all again tomorrow..." A few minutes later, she was asleep.
