This is just a first draft and I'm still working on a lot of the details, but here's the basic design of the Asylum. I bet you folks expected something more gothic castle-like, huh?

Actually I expected internal shape, not outside. Since, yanno, as inmates we'll be seeing the inside more often.

That's what I mean by still having a lot to do xD This is so I can get an idea on what's outside. Inside will come after I'm done figuring out how the bottom floors work. After all, I can't work on the inside when I don't even know how it looks on the outside.

I love the design of the Tartarus (I have played Persona 3 you know). I actually wanted the Asylum to have certain elements form the Tartarus, but I couldn't really do that without copying most of its design.

It looks really tall. How wide is it, and how many people does it usually hold?

I'm still working that out (like I said, first draft NOT final product. Hell, there might be even more versions coming up) Though in my opinion the number of people it holds is unimportant- all you have to know is that it's big enough to fit a lot of people, and if they run out a space they'll just put more patients together in a room. I'm still working on other structures to make it a little wider.
Drawing elaborate buildings is harder than most people think, man DX Especially when architecture is something I don't care about at all. That's why game designers and anything of the like work in teams of different yet experienced folks, so they can make sure it's awesome but still looks right. TT^TT

It kinda reminds me of a Picasso painting, with elements of Shibusen and biological ickyness...

A expanded it a little more. I'll work on the inside later, my hand hurts.

The wonky buildings reminded me of the old and crappy comic with Generic University. What with the dorm buildings bending sideways and such.

Here's the map! It's a little unclear, but that's the point And yes, the elevators move up and down and also sideways. How? MAGIC. Also take note that the squares represents where the Elevators STOP, not where they are. To clear things up, there are two types of elevator- 12 ft x 12 ft, and Regular Sized. The 12ftx12ft elevator can ONLY be used by Pit Members. The regular sized ones are all over the Asylum. And the messy look is intended- it's supposed to look like frantic writing and planning.
